October
is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month... This year
we’re doing more than just recognizing National Breast Cancer Awareness
Month we are supporting it by donating a portion of the proceeds from each
online purchase of Marie Osmond Dolls to the Susan
G. Komen for the Cure.
As busy women, we need to help increase
awareness of breast cancer issues, especially the importance of early detection.
I encourage each and everyone one of you to do your “necessary checks”
now and more importantly every month! And make sure your mothers, daughters,
sisters and girlfriends are doing it too!
I’ll be sharing with you throughout the month some of the letters and
stories I have received from survivors and their families of how a special
doll has brought happiness, comfort, hope, or peace in their valiant battle
against this all too common disease.
Dear
Marie,
My wife and I went to our first doll signing with our one and only doll,
bought specifically to have you sign it and give us the opportunity to
meet you. Since I had chosen our first doll, I asked my wife to choose one.
You have to understand that my wife is not a doll collector, and was not thrilled
by my sudden interest in dolls. So we are looking at all the beautiful dolls
on display when my wife says to me, "That is the doll that I want".
She was referring to Adora Belle Doll for the Cure, which we purchased and got
signed by you. This doll remains very special to both of us. At the time my
wife had just recently underwent breast cancer surgery. Thanks to early detection
and the skill of her doctors, she is now a three year breast cancer survivor.
Since then we have added Adora Bitty Belle Doll for the Cure, and Doll for the
Cause. Marie, I cannot thank you and Charisma
enough for these three beautiful
dolls which hold such special meaning
for us.
My collection has grown since that first doll, and I now have many beautiful
dolls to enjoy, along with many doll friends I can share my passion
with. No matter how many dolls I have though, none will be more precious than
the one my wife picked out.
Paul H.
